MapRider
web mapping services for fleet tracking and management
MapRider is the web mapping service by UbiEst designed support fleet management applications and services.
The MapRider engine integrates different communication gateways (typically GSM) and provides an interface for end users. The interface integrates a series of features specifically designed for the fleet management and enterprise mobility needs.

How it works
The UbiEst MapRider engine accesses the repository of vehicle and resource locations, typically equipped with GPS tracking devices and communication module. Any position, marked according to its GPS coordinates and context information (time, state of sensors…) can be mapped.
Interface
The interface is logically divided into the following sections:
- interaction with vehicles (location inquiry, tracking, display of stored routes, sending text messages, downloading stored routes…)
- reports
- Web GIS features (zoom+/-, panning, search for addresses, calculation of distances and routes, POI visual display…)
- Besides the Fleet management interface, an administrative console is available for the creation of users and profiles, and for the configuration of devices and fleets.
The UbiEst mapping online platform, is a complete tool to manage vehicles and resources. MapRider allows locations location tracing (as well as alarms, proximity alerts, etc.) and information broadcasting (traffic, routes, points of interests, proximity). MapRider also allows visual reports on the maps representing the stored routes, so that end users can easily analyse and control the activity.
Highly integrability
The UbiEst system is designed to independently from the positioning and tracking device and the used standard of coordinates (UTM, WGS84, Gauss Boaga). As a main feature, it is compatible with hardware equipment available on the market: several types of GPS tools, mobile phones with GPS device, location information coming from mobile networks. MapRider can widen its features according to the positioning device capabilities (burglar alarm, management of temperature alarms, lifting etc.) and guarantees a custom-made service focused on customers’ needs.
Cost competitive
The cost of the fleet management service is extremely flexible and proportional to the number of vehicles and operators using this system. This allows our partners to integrate the platform without huge initial investments on licences, competences and hardware. The application outsourcing includes assistance, maintenance and updating of components .
